Good tyres are essential for safe driving - they are your only contact with the road and affect steering, braking and acceleration.

The legal minimum tread depth in the UK is 1.6mm across the central three quarters of the tyre width and around its entire outer circumference.

A tyre with less than 1.6mm tyre tread requires twice the braking distance of a new tyre.

Uneven tyre wear can cause steering misalignment.

Having the wrong tyre pressure whether high or low will cause rapid wear of the tyres.

Under-inflated tyres will increase fuel consumption.
